GMG Hotel - Coron Palawan

August 2, 2012, 7am, we were invited by two old and kind people we have met in Coron to spend a breakfast at GMG Hotel just about 2 blocks away from our hotel. Hearsay is they serve good variety of breakfast bread and jam so we came to try.
GMG HOTEL
GMG stands for "God's Mercy and Grace". We had a chance to talk and share stories with the owner of the hotel, Erlinda Perez. A very kind, warm and accommodating person. She said that they have only started having a 3 story building and, with God's grace, they were able to build an additional of two more floors and soon enough, they were expecting to add few more rooms and best amenities that this hotel could offer.

Breakfast Area
The breakfast for walk-in customers should be at P300 but the owner just gave it to us for P150 each. That's half of the price of what we are suppose to pay. *thank you!* This includes choice of set breakfast (i.e. Tapsilog, Hotsilog, Tocilog *choice of chicken or pork tocino*, etc.), free flowing brewed coffee, salad, home-made bread, home-made pineapple jam, butter and juice.
Free flowing breakfast items.
Our main course have yet served so we have started to taste their food on the breakfast table. I have first gotten what they boast more, their home-made bread and pineapple jam. How does it tastes? Actually, I couldn't find the right words. Tasty? Palatable? Unique? I would say, all mentioned. These are the most delicious bread and jam I have ever tasted in my whole life! No kidding! You can try to prove it. No regrets. I have not just eaten one piece. I went back to the breakfast table couple of times. I think I was able to consume 5-6 slices of this. :) Super Yummy! My partner said their salad tastes good too. We both enjoyed their dishes.
Their homemade bread and jam.
Few minutes later, our set breakfast were served. Mine is Pork Tocino and my partner's Chicken Tocino. They both tastes good too. Pork were so tender and the chicken were so yummy and tender too as it almost melted in my mouth. for the price of P150? no regrets! We were so satisfied and full of their servings.

After we ate, the manager have offered me a tour around the hotel without me asking to. Very kind indeed. We have started at the ground floor up to the fourth (only) as the fifth is not yet done. They actually have amenities to boast that will separate this hotel to other hotels in town for being one of the best. They soon to have a sushi bar and a small plunge pool for diving tutorials at the ground floor. The breakfast area/bar and a salon (yes! like the beauty salon!) on the second floor. An open Barbecue restaurant (soon!) on the fifth floor having an amazing view of Coron bay.
Sushi Bar and Plunge Pool.
The on-site salon.
The hotel was well-built and well-planned. One will notice a hole in the middle of the hallways that makes each floor breezy. She said that they have did it because, during summer, it becomes so hot in Coron that one cannot even bear to stay inside the room even air-condition is open. So they have come up with this plan so that breeze from the outside will circulate throughout the hotel for an airy feeling. Good to know!
Ventilation welcomes fresh air.
Sea View from the fourth floor.

And so how's the rate for this hotel? See and decide. This hotel is a must stay hotel in Coron. I have not been a guests but with how the owner accommodated us, I'm sure one will not regret their decision. I'm planning my next trip back here as of the writing. And when I came down to visit, this is the hotel of my choice!
