Invading Coron 1: The arrival

I was able to book our flight 6 months ago via AirPhil Express with it's P188 sale before taxes and fees. It's just me and my partner who's booked when a close friend of mine and his partner decided to join us on our trip and so we waited for another airline sale and lucky us, just a month before we leave, we were able to grab their ticket with the same airlines and fortunately, with the same flight.

Me and my Partner's Airline Ticket

Our hotel were booked on the last minute as I have waited 6-months long to canvass and analyze which hotel should we book for having good reviews based on quality and credibility. I have read a lot of reviews with TripAdvisor and other Blog-site that can be found through the internet before we have made the final decision. We ended booking the Islands View Inn through Agoda.com getting 2 rooms for a total of P6120.++ including taxes. I have booked the hotel not just because of the reviews online. The communication I had with them added as the hotel kept on giving us an updates by sending emails, mostly about 3 times a month,  regarding their availability from the time I have inquired until I have finally decided to book with them. That elapsed in 6 months. They indeed deserve getting the credit.

And so July 31st came, we flew to Coron, Palawan.

Me boarding the plane.
First glimpse of Busuanga.

Come 12:30pm, we arrived in Busuanga Airport. Kuya Jay, our hotel service is waiting for us outside the terminal and warmly welcomed us when he introduced himself. We (4), together with two other people boarded the van that will take us to Coron Town which is located approximately 45 minutes away.

Our Van Service. Each way costs P150 per person.
New Zealand? No! It's Busuanga!
As per Kuya Jay, there were over a thousand of cows lives freely around this part of Busuanga.
This is owned by the government and up to date, no single person have stolen one of these.
Fact: Coron is a Zero Crime Rate municipality.

I thought It'll be boring to travel that far to reach the town but I was wrong. Kuya Jay was so friendly and courteous telling us stories about Coron. He cultivated us with facts about their island which was so entertaining and before we knew it, 45 minutes have passed and we're already in town. :)

When we stepped in the lobby, Miss Jen, the manager of the hotel approached us and greeted us with welcome drinks and asked us how was our trip in a friendly manner. Apparently, none of the booked rooms were ready yet as we arrived earlier than their check in time. For us it's okay, so we just told them we'll just spend the time we have to wait outside to grab something to eat for lunch. Kuya Jay gave us advice on where we can get good food in town. Miss Jen kept our baggage in the lobby and promised us that our room will be ready when we come back. So we're off to eat. And just an hour later, we're back and our room, as promise, are ready.

I have booked their deluxe room (considered as the lowest type of room) so I am just expecting having a room that I have seen on their website which is small and does not have enough space for two people. But to my surprise, it was opposite of what I am expecting. Miss Jen gave me two keys, room 8 & 9. I gave the key of room number 8 to my friend and kept the other for us without asking what bed does it have. My friend got a room with One Queen Size Bed and ours has One Double and One Single. Did I got envy? NO! I prefer having a room with two beds so we could sleep on one and place our things on the other. To best describe our room, it was SO spacious, clean, air conditioned and has water heater too! Hotel itself has a stand-by generator which is good as knowing Coron has rotational brown-out schedule.

Right after getting in the room to drop our bags, I left my partner and came back to the lobby to make arrangements with Miss Jen for our City Tour. We did not pre-booked anything as I am aware that it'll be cheaper to do it directly in town. She gave us a price of P500/person and we took it which includes the van service, city tour, tour guide and entrance to a well-known hot spring in town.
