Last night, my partner and I were discussing on where to spend our time-off together as its the only common day we have every week. I suggested to got to Festival Mall in Alabang to try something different. But this afternoon, we still ended up going to our usual place, Robinsons Ermita. We have both agreed to change our itinerary as Rob-Ermita is just around 15-20 minutes away from home and we can drive on the way there by our motorcycle which will save our time and money unlike Alabang which requires time and weary.
Both of us didn't had breakfast as I am too lazy to cook and he said also that we can just eat outside. Upon arrival, we looked on where to eat first. Our options were Pizza Hut, Karate Kid or Sbarro. Yet, when we passed by Max's Restaurant, he asked if it's okay to just have our brunch here. Since it was his favorite I nodded. Who am I to resist? Max's dishes were always great isn't it?
Once we stepped inside, a waitress assisted us as we asked for a table for two. I was glad because she have given me a corner table which I always prefer. She handed us the menu and walked away. As I am looking for what I want, my mind was debating whether to eat saucy dish or just Max's signature chicken. And so, the chicken won. :D I flipped the page to the Platter Menu and there I seek for what to order.

Once we're settled for what we both want, we called any waiter's attention so they could already get our order. It was a busy day i guess because i need to wave my hand four times before someone noticed us. The waitress who came got our order and asked her to serve our drinks first, she nodded and left.
As for what we ordered, mine was Fiesta Platter Meal (P195) served with Max's quarter fried chicken that comes with fresh lumpiang ubod and steamed rice, a piece of caramel bar and a choice of Pepsi or Iced Tea. And for my Partner, he had Chopsuey Meal ( P195) served with mixed vegetables, pork and shrimp sauteed in thick sauce, Max's Fried Chicken, a serving of steamed rice and a choice of Pepsi or Iced Tea. We upgraded our regular drinks to bottomless (P29 each) and ordered their soup of the day (45).

seen this on their wall. akalain mong P5.oo lang ang chicken dati! |
Few minutes later, our drinks has not arrived yet so we then asked one of the waiter to again, serve our drinks immediately. However, he came back and served our soup (mistake # 1)! We asked him again to serve our drinks and when he came back, finally our drinks arrived! But then, I notice that my partner's drink are those like regulars. When someone passed by, I asked them to have the order be corrected as it should be bottomless (mistake # 2).
We started sipping our drinks and soup while waiting for our main dish. I was glad that I ordered their soup. It was meaty and has full of flavors, so yummy! Half way done with the soup then our meal came. Waiter put down my partner's meal first then mine. But hey! When I looked at my order, I was confused and it even made me asked my partner, "eto na ba ngayon ang lumpiang sariwa nila?". My partner looked closely and responded, "pancit yan." (mistake # 3). I waved my hand a someone approached me and I said that my order was wrong. He left and came back quickly with my right order and so then we started to eat.

And mine. |
Overall, the only food I liked the most was their soup. The Iced Tea were bland, The chicken were dry, Fresh Lumpia were rough as if there were raw flour mixed with it. It was below the Max's standard as i know. Good thing that my partner liked his part so lucky them, as long as he's full, okay na ko. But my comment does not stop right there. Making mistake three times is seriously bad on their business. Buti nalang ako un, pano nalang kapag masungit na customers? Since there are no comment cards on the table, I have nothing to leave them for correcting their service. Anyway, nabusog naman ang Baby ko, so okay na.
